Hello folks,
This is my first post so let me start off with a simpleintroduction on what is bitcoins.
Go to http://www.bitcoin.org/ and download the client.
Save your bitcoin address somewhere. For eg: this address is mine 1K2pKqSSUZJvNuyTUjE2yBxYrXxE2fQJYr (you can donate some bitcoins if you found this guide helpful)
Another way to get a wallet is get one online at InstaWallet or MyBitcoin. With this option you don't have to install anything,
Now we move on to how to get bitcoins.
There are three ways:
- Get free bitcoins.
- Exchange Bitcoins. Buy/Sell Bitcoins.
- Make Bitcoins or as we call mine bitcoins.
Get free bitcoins:
For your first test with Bitcoin, you can get a tiny amount of Bitcoins for free from the Bitcoin faucet.
Exchange, buy, sell bitcoins:
See if there are local Bitcoiners in your area at TradeBitcoin.com!Do you have a marketable skill or even just a cool idea for some quirky service you can provide for people? Put it up on ForBitcoin
For larger purchases there are several currency exchanges, such as Mt. Gox, Bitcoin Market and TradeHill.
If you prefer skipping the exchange and dealing directly with other people you can head over to Bitcoin OTC.
Mining a bitcoin:
For mining bitcoins we need something called miners.
There are lots of miners out there but finding them was hard when I was starting out.
So head over to http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?board=42.0 to download some miners.
I'd prefer the GUI miner it has every good miner in it + has GUI interface.
Here is a screenshot of GUI miner:

ReplyDeleteMany people including myself are just starting to hear about Bitcoins even though they have been around since 2008-2009. They are a very new "currency" and will allow you to profit without ANY fees of transfer, any freezing of funds, doesn't require banks and is currently feared by established financial institutions to the way of trying to ban it. The funny thing is that is it`s impossible to ban or prohibit because no one owns it!
